**2026 Fall Practice Begins the week of Monday, August 17th**
All athletes must be registered through the MPS district in order to participate in any SWHS Laker Cheer activities.
The online registration link opens on Monday, June 22, 2026.

MANDATORY MPS / SWHS Athletic Department Participation Fee for Cheer is $75.00 ($25 for those registered for educational benefits) and can be paid online HERE
Alternate Payment Method: A personal check made payable to "Southwest Athletics"
(Put in a sealed envelope and place inside lockbox in front of the Athletic Office)
SPORTS PHYSICAL - All athletes must have a sports physical on file with the Athletic Department. It stays on file for THREE YEARS.
Incoming SWHS Athletes: If you have NOT played another sport at SWHS, you will need to get a sports physical.
Seniors: If your last sports physical was submitted for your freshman year or before, you will need to get one for the 2026-2027 season.
Please connect with your family physician or make a FREE Minnesota State HS League physical appointment with the School-Based Clinic or TRIA.
If your athlete is not registered for the 2026 fall season, they are still required to attend mandatory practice, but will be UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE until registered per the SWHS Athletic Dept.
